1998年，小柯为电视剧《千秋家园梦》创作了音乐，并与田震合唱了主题曲《千秋家园梦》。同年10月，他发行了自己的第二张专辑《天色将晚》。1999年，小柯为中国首部偶像剧《将爱情进行到底》创作了音乐，并演唱了片头曲《遥望》。
2000年，他为《贫嘴张大民的幸福生活》创作了音乐，演唱了片尾曲《日子》。同年，他推出了个人第三张作品集《日子》，为香港凤凰电视台大型世纪系列片“千禧之旅”创作了主题曲《千年走一回》等。
